It all started when the three of us teamed up for what should have been a simple ensemble performance video for our weekly ukulele class with SpicyUke.   However, when our creative minds combined, ideas kept flowing, and before we knew it, we had a full-on production!   We created a score, put together costumes, scouted locations, and our vision began to take shape.  We did our own recording, sound mixing, filming and editing, learning a ton along the way. 

 

During production, as an inside joke, we decided to create a fake band with stage names that fit the theme of our project "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly". We nicknamed our drummer Sivan "Trixie Styx" because, naturally, all bands are named after the drummer *wink wink*.  The "jumping fleas" came from the  ukuleles played by Farrah and Marina, as "Ukulele" translates to "jumping flea" in Hawaiian.  When "Trixie & the Jumping Fleas" was suggested as the band name, we died laughing and quickly adopted it for our music video.

 

The stars aligned for this entire project, and we had so much fun with the production that we decided to continue making music together to fuel our creative passions.
